TQ’s sold-out show “Unknown Artist” on until March 9th
Hey peeps,
Thanks to those who made it to the opening of my solo show of self-portraits, “Unknown Artist” at Sullivan and Strumpf. It was a chill and friendly evening though I was still quite overwhelmed as I sipped from a coconut. I didnt eat any Chicos (brown/black baby lollies for those not raised in Oz!) provided to relate to the Family Tree portrait so I did avoid a sugar crash. I got to my limit with posing for photos, and now I don’t know who has any for me to post except the following! If you do, please email me.
I’m so pleased with this work that was so personal and cathartic to make. I’m also happy that the show sold out before the opening! University of Queensland acquired two works and the National of Gallery of Victoria acquired three, with the others going to private collectors. It’s wonderful having work go to institutions where it might be seen again publicly, and some in my chosen home town.
If you’re in Sydney before March 9th, I hope you can make it to the show. The gallery is open Tues-Sat. I’m hosting a kids super-identity workshop on Sat 2nd March for Art Month Sydney, though it’s booked out already, sorry.

Apologies that the upstairs gallery is not wheelchair accessible. There is a long flight of stairs.
PS I want to thank my assistants Liang Luscombe and Lee Lai for their help with the work for this show, the work couldn’t have been made without them. Also thanks to my family for their support, and to Ripley, Adelaide and Nat for additional help with the work. Thanks to Hayden and Jac for photography. And to Ursula Sullivan and Joanna Strumpf, and all the staff at the gallery for putting on the show.
