TQ in 2QTPOC as part of Pervers/Cité in Montréal, QC !
I’m part of an incredible festival in Montréal, Quebec, Canadia at the moment. Elisha Lim is one of the organisers. If you haven’t checked out their stuff visit elishalim.com right away!
I’ll be reading poetry on Wednesday 15th August as part of QTPOC readings at le cagibi, 5490 St Laurent at 6.30pm
I’m in the 2qtpoc art show showing prints of my We Don’t Need Another Hero series, alongside a line-up of incredible 2QTPOC artists including Ange Loft, Leroi Newbold, Kesso Saulnier, Walter K. Scott and Adee Roberson. Runs from August 10th to 18th at articule, 262 Fairmount W/O, Montréal.
On Saturday August 18th I’m presenting an artist talks of sorts in the articule gallery on the same night as people from AGIR and GLAM. Here’s the promo, the event is here, Textaqueen on FB if you want more…
Textaqueen (Presented by Venus Envy Ottawa)
Textaqueen’s live performances include narrated slide shows of their portraits, engaging the audience with anecdotes related to their drawing process and the talents of their subjects.
AGIR is an association whose main purpose is to develop and provide services, resources and advocacy for lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans and queer (LGBTQ) refugee claimants, refugees, immigrants and newcomers with no status within the Montreal-area. agir-qc.info
GLAM is a not-for-profit, volunteer-run group founded in 1993 as a support/social/activist group for self-identified queer, gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, gender queer, and intersex Asians living in Montréal. Our mission is to help such individuals in Montréal understand and deal with their sexuality by providing them with a safe, comfortable, and empathetic environment in which they can make new friends, share personal experiences, and feel like they are part of a community.
If you’re in the francophone zone, maybe see you there. Some reviews so far of the show are in the Montreal Gazette and on Cult, and there’s more to come, there’s more interviews this week.
Here’s the festival program.
