The last while has been an incredible learning curve, developing and directing The Story of Eve, my first collaborative performance project of this nature. Feeling so blessed to work with so many talented and generous people and be part of creative chemistry on an epic scale. Our first stage development ends today with a private in-progress showing – it’ll be a while before a public outcome, but it’ll be worth the wait. The Story of Eve is a performance with live musical score by Divide and Dissolve. A team of artists across different cultural backgrounds including Alison Whittaker, Laila Thaker, Maxine Beneba Clarke, Lou Smith, and Carol Que respond to TextaQueen’s cross-genre photographic series created on Boonwurrung country, Eve of Incarnation. They present an anthropology lecture, a science-fiction emigrant allegory, an ethno-botanical fashion commentary and an art academic performance lecture.
