When the speedboats of Bonnie Doon were grounded due to drought, this classic Aussie housewife sought an alternate location to read her favourite books on Australian history and family genealogy. This eerily beautiful yet artificial lake, where dead trees poke above the murky waters like ash-grey totems, seemed an apt backdrop for questioning, as non-Indigenous Australians, where we come from and why we’re here.
