It was at least as hot as it got today during this shoot – I think it hit 40 Celsius. I’d misplaced my remote shutter release so this shot was taken with the 10 second timer. After I pressed the button, I had to stumble up the rocky crags and pick up the branches for each shot, trusting in serendipity. Many of the shoots in this series were physically intense yet my body was unusually low on pain for this residency on Boonwurrung country – serendipity and/or the process of creating this series on this land?
